Claudia Assmann leads work on green economy and green industrial policies at UN Environment. In this role, she provides policy analysis and advice on how to promote an economic transformation that is socially inclusive and respects planetary boundaries. Claudia implements project activities on green economy at global, country and subnational level, which includes China's Jiangsu province. Before joining UN Environment, she was an advisor on climate finance to governments and country offices for the German Development Cooperation. In previous roles with the World Bank and the UN system, she also specialized in climate change adaptation and climate-resilient development. Claudia holds a Master's degree focusing on International Economics and Environmental Policy from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC.
