Thomas Werkmeister is a freelancing machine learning expert and an entrepreneur starting his second business which brings together artificial intelligence and language education. His previous business, scalable minds, focused on automatic analysis of biological images working closely with the Max Planck Institute for Brian Research in Frankfurt. Thomas holds two master's degrees. He first studied computer science at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany, where he focused on artificial intelligence for applications involving natural language. During that time, he also worked as a research assistant at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Berlin. Seeking to better understand how technology interacts with society, Thomas pursued a second master's degree in Sociology as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University with a research focus on automation risk and lifelong learning in China.
